Note: Omni Group Inc. purchsed the 1.3 acre site from Don Murphy and built the Walgreens building in record time. Murphy personally paid for and directed the construction of the State Highway 377 traffic signal, median, Hill Boulevard, Avalon Boulevard, storm sewer, water and sanitary sewer at an expense of almost $400,000, all requirements for a Walgreens opening. Those improvements then became the infrastructure for the 44,000 sq. ft. Avalon Town Center and free standing Chili’s Restaurant and Bar.

Note: Don Murphy purchased the land, conceived the Fort Lauderdale style design, completed the platting process, contracted for the $1.1 million bond, supervised the installation of 2.5 miles of canals with bulkhead along with the construction of the streets and utilities as the developer of this project. Later, along with his sales/marketing director, Lee Walker, he sold the lots in phase I. Don Murphy sold his interest in the project in 2005.
